The Anthropology Department annually awards a limited number of scholarships to well qualified students.  Applications must be made to the Financial Aid Office by February 1 of each year.  Scholarships will be awarded in the fall semester.  It is recommended that students applying should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00.  Preference is given to upper division students.  Students should consult their respective advisor regarding the various scholarships.

Department Scholarship - Department scholarships are available from each academic department at Boise State University.  Departments set the criteria and the scholarship amounts given to each recipient.  This is not a need-based scholarship.  All anthropology majors are automatically included in this list, and are ranked by GPA.  Each academic year four to six anthropology majors are chosen to receive a scholarship from this list.

Native American Scholarship - There is a Native American Scholarship open to qualified Native American students in any major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.   Preference will be given, but not restricted, to Native American students who are Idaho residents.  To apply for the Native American Scholarship, complete the BSU Scholarship Application form.

Single Parent Scholarship - There is a Single Parent Scholarship open to a sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a major in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs (Anthropology is a major in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs).  Criteria includes a cumulative GPA no less than 3.25, and the student should be a single parent/head of household as determined by IRS regulations.  To apply for the Single Parent Scholarship, complete the form which is available in the Department of Anthropology (HWSC 55)  or the Dean's Office (E717) and returned to the Dean's Office by March 15.

Ralston Family Scholarship - There is a Ralston Family Scholarship open to a student who is majoring in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs (Anthropology is a major in the College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs.).  Criteria includes a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater, and preference will be given to students who are parents and will be awarded with regard to financial need.  To apply for the Ralston Family Scholarship, complete the form which is available in the Department of Anthropology (HWSC 55)  or the Dean's Office (E717) and returned to the Dean's Office by March 15.
