Master of Arts in Anthropology
Master of Applied Anthropology
The
Department of Anthropology offers a number of
teaching and research assistantships that include a
stipend and/or fee waiver. In additional,
non-resident tuition is waived for non-residents
receiving assistantships. Students receiving
assistantships must register for 9 or more credits
and are expected to provide 15-20 hours service per
week to the department. Students enrolled in
5-8 credits may be considered for a partial
assistantship. Hours of service for part-time
students are prorated. Students must be in
good standing academically, maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
Students should not expect that assistantships will
be automatically renewed. Those eligible for
reappointment must receive a satisfactory review by
their faculty supervisor each semester. The
department in its review of candidates for
assistantships normally gives preference to
full-time, second-year, and masters candidate
students. See the Financial Aid for
Graduate Students section in the Boise State
University Graduate Catalog for more details.
