Archaeology Students should consider
the following:
Students wishing to pursue a career track in archaeology must have an
archaeological field school. |
Graduate programs expect students to have completed a formal field school
program. |
Most federal and private agencies hiring B.A. level archaeologists require
a formal archaeological field school.
Participating in an archaeological field school insures additional field
work opportunities during your undergraduate program. It is to your
advantage to attend field school as soon as possible--and it is encouraged. |
Some Field School Facts:
Boise State
University enjoys a reputation of providing quality training through its field
school program. |
Many students attending the BSU field school have secured salaried
positions working as archaeological technicians for the Bureau of Land
Management, the Forest Service,
as well as with university programs and private consulting firms prior to
graduation. Field school often serves to develop the network that will
afford you field and research opportunities during your years at BSU and
upon graduation.
BSU has placed numerous field school students into positions throughout
the area and region.
Over 80% of field school participants have attended graduate programs or
work in the field.
The BSU field school is one of the least expensive in the nation. |
